CAP Programs of Studies and Training

Following are the CAP programs of studies and Training  being run/ planned  by NIDP .

Certificate Courses (CAP- Certificate)

It is a short but intensive course in which class work finishes in about 3 months following a 2-3 days afternoon schedule usually on or near the week ends                           

  • Developmental Psychopathology and its Prevention .
  • Handling Adolescents Issues
  • Assessment of Developmental Psychopathology.
  • Treatment & Management of   Disorders
  • Special and Remedial Education
  • Case Studies

Note : For diploma students,  the above subjects are also compulsory to qualify .

Diploma Course  (DIPLOM-CAP)

It is a short but intensive course in which class work finishes in about 3-6 months following a 2-3 days afternoon schedule usually on or near the week ends .In addition to the Subjects of Certificate Course , Diploma students are required to qualify the following subjects as well .

  • Child, Adolescent and Adult Development.
  • Abnormal and Clinical Psychology
  • Theories of Personality Development
  • Guidance Counseling and   Psychotherapy
  • School and Educational Psychology
  • Advanced Level Practicum

BSc Honors in  Clinical Child and Adolescents Psychology ( BSc-HONS-CAP)

It is a four years program after 12 years of education in any field. However, only those students are enrolled who have an outstanding interest and performance in their studies and want to be professional child and adolescent clinical psychologist.
Consisting of 6 semesters in 3 years of study, students will register for compulsory and optional courses selecting from a large list of subjects in Psychology, Education, Psychiatry, Special Education, Sociology, Anthropology, and other Behavioral Sciences.

MS Program in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (MS-CAP)
This is a two years program completed in 4 semesters. The eligibility criteria for admission includes 16 years of education with at least two years of education in psychology at the end.
Students will register for compulsory and optional courses selecting from a large list of subjects in Psychology, Education, Psychiatry, Special Education, and other Behavioral Sciences. For details Please see 
Supervised Practicum

For supervised clinical practice, students have to do an intensive internship in local hospitals / clinics and institutions for a defined number of   credit hours practical clinical work within   6-12 months  after the completion of their course work .
